The principle behind the Environ® Cosmetic Roll-CIT ™ is that it allows increased penetration of vitamins into the active layers of the skin. When applied to the surface of the skin, it causes micro channels into the horny layer (surface) of the skin. This layer is the main obstruction to entry into the skin. Once this layer has been breached, the active ingredients in the skin care products can reach into the depths of the skin about 10,000 times more effectively than by simply applying the products to the surface.
